Courts & Facilities

Our facility offers 6 outdoor floodlit tennis courts and 4 indoor tennis courts situated in beautiful countryside just outside Bideford, North Devon. The courts are available to be booked by anybody throughout the week from just £6.00 per hour. You can hire a Tennis Racket or Tennis Balls if required. We also offer a fantastic Tennis membership scheme allowing local people to use the courts at a discounted rate or in many cases free of charge.


Tennis Memberships

We have 3 levels of Racquet memberships here at ARC with so many amazing benefits:

  • Basic Racquet - just £8 per month for up to four household members to use our courts free of charge before 5pm!

  • Tennis Racquet - £14 per month for players who want to join in club play sessions and ARC Club Championships, play in our league teams and get indoor court booking and coaching discounts.

  • Unlimited Racquet - £20 per month for the more dedicated player and those who want the best multi-sports access and the biggest indoor tennis court discounts.

  • Junior Racquet - £4 per month for U18 with free outdoor courts and 20% discount on indoor courts. For kids coaching and loads of extra benefits, click here to take a look at our Junior Boost Memberships!

PLUS combine any of our adult racquet membership with a gym membership and you get 15% off the total price!

Adult Tennis Coaching

 

Adult Coaching Program

Our adult coaching program is a great option if you are looking to improve your play with regular coaching. Our improver sessions are ideal for building on and improving your skills, and for those playing at a higher level, we also run intermediate sessions.

Session Type:
Monthly Direct Debit Program

When:
Monday, Wednesday & Thursday evenings

What’s Included:
1x60min session per week, 43 weeks of coaching per year, ARC Racquet members get a discount on coaching

Cost:
Indoor 60mins: £25 p/m for ARC Racquet Members, £29 p/m for non-members.

Tennis Xpress for Beginners

For players who are completely new to tennis or have only played a few times before. You'll learn how to rally, how to serve and how to score in a fun and social environment

Session Type:
Course: Pay in advance for a block of 6 or 7 sessions

When:
10-11am Saturday 25th Feb to Saturday 1st April

What’s Included:
6-7 week course of 60mins coaching on outdoor courts, racquet hire as required.

Cost:
£30 for the course

Practice & Play

An hour of coach led drills for all abilities designed to improve your tactical awareness and technical ability followed by an hour of fun social match play.

Session Type:
Drop In: Pay as you go (pre-booking essential)

When:
1-3pm Every Wednesday and Friday

What’s Included:
1 hour of coaching drills + 1 hour of social match play with coach supervision

Cost:
£9 per session for non-members or £8 for ARC racquet members


Cardio Tennis

A fun, sociable group fitness class set on a tennis court and open to people of all ages and abilities. Supported by music and qualified instructors, you'll get to hit loads of tennis balls during your class and have a great cardio workout at the same time.

Session Type:
Drop In: Pay as you go (pre-booking essential)

When:
9-10am every Saturday

What’s Included:
1 hour of coach led cardio tennis drills

Cost:
£6 per session for non-members or £7 for ARC Racquet or Basic Gym members, 1 Class Pass for ARC Gym Class Members (Double/Triple Gym)


Individual Lessons

A 1:1 Tennis lesson is often a great way to make detailed improvement to your technique. Some of our coaches offer 1:1 individual lessons. They do this on a self-employed basis around their group sessions at the centre. You’ll pay the coach directly for their time and will also need to pay a court hire fee regardless of whether your a member or not. You can read about this below.

Box Leagues

The singles box league is a fantastic way for Tennis & Unlimited Racquet members to compete against other players of a similar standard. We run 6 leagues throughout the year, with a short break between each one. The playing format is the best of 3 short sets with match tie-break in 3rd set.

Some things you need to know…

The Box League will now run all year round in blocks of six weeks. There will now be roughly a one week pause between rounds. We plan to run six series per year. You will need to enter each time you wish to participate.

We hope, that by entering, you agree to play a minimum of 50% of your matches. The Box League is now being run 100% online using the LTA Box League Manager system, so you will notice some visual changes. We’ll provide you with some screenshots to get started.

You’ll now be able to enter your own results as you go. We hope you’ll like this as you’ll be able to use your smart phone as well. A few replies asked about the best times to play, so we’ll provide some general advice. The playing format is to remain as before. Best of 3 short sets with match tie-break in 3rd set.
