Over 100 ARC members & their families came along despite the wet weather to celebrate the King’s Coronation on Monday 8th May 2023. The staff & volunteer team came together to organise a series of mix-in activities, challenges and games across Badminton, Table Tennis, Tennis and in the Gym.
Whether it was challenging Marcus’s Table Tennis robot to a face-off, tackling Lottie & Estelle’s partner challenges in the gym, taking on Tom V in the famous Royal Toilet Cleaner kids game, hitting some sweet overhead clears in the Badminton mix-in with Andy & Glen or dodging tennis balls in Hannah & Marian’s bob sleigh – it was certainly a morning full of sweat, energy & laughter for all who took part!
Once the exercise was done, members from across the different sections of ARC joined together for a ‘Bring & Share Lunch’ on a large banquet table squeezed on the small but dry viewing platform in the Indoor Tennis & Badminton Hall. Whilst food was served a presentation took place to Peter Colwill who recently stepped down as ARC President after a great many years of involvement in the project.
The event was a huge success and it was great to see so many new families coming and getting involved with all ARC has to offer to its loyal subjects!
