ADVICE FOR PARENTS

We realise that there is a lot to take in - so we’ve highlighted here a few important things you need to know as the parent of a child signing up to ARC Youth Racquet Membership,

Membership Benefits

We strongly recommend you take note of the incredible benefits included in the ARC Youth Racquet Membership subscription. It’s so much more than just weekly classes and each of the other benefits are factored into your monthly price so make sure you make the most of them. You can re-cap here.

Supervision

We take safeguarding really seriously, and as such we don’t allow any children under the age of 13 to move around our site unattended. As a parent it’s therefore vital that you please deliver you child directly to the coach leading their session and collect them from that coach at the end of each session. If for any reason someone else will be collecting your child, you must inform us of this at the start of each session.

Children over the age of 13 may arrive and leave at session unattended if you have completed a ‘Parental Consent Form’ and handed this to our reception team.

Read our full rules around supervising children here.

Communication

Most information regarding upcoming events or changes to sessions will be included in our Weekly Racquet Update email. We’d highly recommend subscribing to this newsletter so that you stay up to date and don’t miss any upcoming opportunities (particularly ones that are included in your membership).

For any time sensitive or more personal communications we’ll usually email you directly.

Term Dates

Our weekly sessions run for 39 weeks of the year in line with the state school holidays. We run Monday - Saturday, meaning the final Saturday session of each half-term will usually take place on the first weekend of a school holiday. Sessions take place as usual on bank holidays unless we tell you otherwise.

During the school holidays we will always run plenty of activities for your child to get involved with, many of which are included in your subscription (Team Challenge and Parties). We’ll also offer extra opportunities that you can pay extra for such as Holiday Activity Camps.

Equipment

You don’t need any equipment of your own to take part in our sessions. We just ask that you send your child along with a drink, with trainers, and with suitable clothing for the expected weather conditions.

If you do decide you’d like to buy your child their own racquet, just speak to one of our coaches who will be happy to advise you on which size to buy.
